The sea is always with us the following days. May it be at beautiful overnight spots directly at the beach or as brown water in the Bay of Fundy. The tides that rise more than 10 meters here have carved massive rock formations on the shore. With the rainy weather and the dirty water the brown reddish rocks looked more sad than anything else.
We decided on a little detour to Prince Edward Island – short P.E.I. The Island got a connection to the mainland 20 years ago, when the confederation bridge was built. Peace by peace was built on the shore and transported with a massive custom made ship to its place. The bridge has now to stand tall against heavy winds, stormy sea and lots of ice in winter.
On the Island we drive by hundreds of potatoe fields. Farming and tourism are the main source of income here. After a short visit of Charlottetown we explored the northern coast. Unfortunately our visits at the beautiful beaches and shorelines were only short due to rain and uncomfortable wind.
We couldn’t find lots to do in the rain on P.E.I., so we passed by several lighthouses and headed back to the mainland.
